Euljiro or Seongsu may be the hip and trendy places in Seoul for Gen Z and Alpha, but when it comes to shopping for the latest tech gadgets, stores in Yeouido are unbeatable.

Yeouido (여의도) is often called “Seoul’s Wall Street,” with suits, stocks, and stiff political debates. And, they are not wrong as this island in the heart of Seoul has long been the capital’s financial engine and home to the National Assembly. But take a stroll through Yeouido today, and it will surprise you! The briefcases are still there, but now they’re sharing sidewalk space with Dyson hairdryers, Xiaomi smart gadgets, and Apple fans lining up to test the latest iPhones.

Welcome to Yeouido 2.0: where business suits meet smart homes, and where tech innovation is starting to outshine finance.

The Traditional Yeouido: Home of Finance & Government

Traditionally known for its towering office buildings and tailored suits, the island is home to the Korea Exchange (KRX), major financial institutions like Mirae Asset and KB Financial Group, and countless securities firms. The skyline, dominated by sleek high-rises, tells the story of a neighborhood built on commerce, numbers, and national strategy.

Equally important is Yeouido’s role in Korean politics. The iconic National Assembly Building stands proudly on the western end of the island, anchoring it as the symbolic and functional center of the country’s legislative activities. Politicians, civil servants, and media teams crisscross its wide boulevards daily, making Yeouido not just a center of economic decision-making, but also a hub of national governance.

From Boardrooms to Showrooms

While the dual identity as Korea’s Wall Street and Capitol Hill remains intact, Yeouido is now undergoing a quiet but striking transformation. Yeouido’s transformation has been quiet, but powerful. In just a few years, it has become Seoul’s rising tech-retail destination. Yeouido has evolved into a dynamic urban hub, blending business, culture, leisure, and now increasingly, technology and innovation. There are major tech stores in the area that have changed the landscape totally.

IFC Mall (International Finance Center)

This place was once known primarily for its upscale atmosphere and corporate clientele. However, Yeouido is now a high-end shopping complex featuring numerous global tech brand stores.

Apple Store Yeouido

Apple Store Yeouido is Apple’s second official retail location in South Korea, situated on the L1 level of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul’s prominent financial and political district.

It’s like an architectural marvel, just like most other Apple stores across the world. The store’s design is modern and minimalist, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls that allow natural light to fill the space. A standout element is the custom Apple logo by Korean illustrator Yoony Suk, which reflects the skyline of Yeouido and highlights the store’s cultural and local connection.

Inside, the store showcases the full lineup of Apple products, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, and a range of accessories. It also offers a Genius Bar for technical support and repairs, as well as a dedicated Forum area for “Today at Apple” sessions—free, creative, and educational workshops. The multilingual staff provides service in Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Indonesian, enhancing the accessibility of the store for international visitors.

Xiaomi’s First Offline Store in Korea

Xiaomi is set to open its first official offline store in South Korea on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The store, named “Mi Store,” will be located on the second floor of the IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul.

The Mi Store is designed as an integrated retail space that combines product sales with after-sales (A/S) services. Spanning approximately 60 pyeong (about 198 square meters), the store will showcase a wide range of Xiaomi products, including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, TVs, vacuum cleaners, home appliances, and smart IoT devices. The layout will provide an immersive experience, enabling customers to interact with products in settings that replicate real-life environments.

And, you are in for a treat if you are in Seoul on June 28 and 29. If you make purchases exceeding certain amounts, you will receive gifts such as mobile phone stands, laptops, or panda plush toys. Additionally, you can participate in in-store missions and challenges for a chance to win Xiaomi products and SU7 Ultra car models through a lucky draw event.

Dyson Demo Store

The Dyson Demo Store at IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul, is Dyson Korea’s flagship retail location. It offers an immersive experience across the brand’s full range of technologies. This 323-square-meter store is staffed by Dyson Experts, trained by Dyson engineers, who provide personalized demonstrations and consultations to help customers explore and understand the latest innovations.

The Hyundai Seoul

Just a few blocks from IFC, the Hyundai Seoul isn’t just a department store; it’s a cultural experience. With its airy, green-filled atrium and minimalist design, it almost feels more like a museum, but with tech stores in Yeouido.

But it’s also where Yeouido’s tech vibe comes to life. You can find new pop-up stores every week, which often draw massive lines of tech enthusiasts.

Whether you’re into gadgets, gaming gear, or want to discover the next big lifestyle trend, this place delivers. And it does it with style.

Beyond the Tech Stores in Yeouido

Now, if all this sounds a little too high-tech, don’t worry, Yeouido still has a soft side too. You can take a breather at Yeouido Hangang Park, one of the city’s favorite riverside hangouts. In spring, the cherry blossom tunnel here turns into a pink paradise, and the annual Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival brings in crowds from all over Korea.

There’s also the 63 Building, once the tallest in Seoul, still worth a visit for its observatory views, art exhibits, and even an aquarium. Because even tech lovers need a little nature (and nostalgia) sometimes.

How to Get There?

Yeouido is extremely accessible, served by both Line 5 and Line 9, and just a short distance from downtown Seoul. Whether you’re coming from Gangnam, Hongdae, or Incheon Airport, you’re well connected.
