Jeju Food & Wine Festival 2025: What to Expect This Year

Running from May 9 to June 15, the 10th Jeju Food & Wine Festival (JFWF) in 2025 will be more than what you can imagine. Last year, you experienced the unforgettable garden dinner and an impressive course by James Suckling. But this year? This year will give you more than just an ordinary gourmet event. Because, as special as it is, the 2025 Jeju Food & Wine Festival is bringing together some of Korea’s top chefs, including the brilliant stars of Netflix’s “Culinary Class Wars.”

This six-week amazing festival is offering an outstanding week-long island-wide celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community. They will shower you with a delightful experience you will never easily forget long after you return.

Locations and Venue

Most of the main events—like chef masterclasses, wine tastings, and dessert fairs—will take place at Jeju Shinhwa World in Seogwipo. But don’t think the festival is limited to one spot. This year’s celebration spills across the island through Gourmet Week, which features 200 local restaurants curated by the festival committee.

Pro Tip: Base yourself near Seogwipo for easy access to the festival’s main venue, then rent a car or use local buses to explore partner restaurants around the island.

Highlight Events You Shouldn’t Miss at Jeju Food & Wine Festival 2025

May 13–14: Dessert Fair at Shinhwa Terrace

Looking for something light and sweet? This event gathers over 20 dessert and coffee brands in one place—perfect for families and casual visitors.

May 15: Master Chef Class at La Bella, Shinhwa World

Learn the art of flavor from Netflix’s “Culinary Class Wars” chefs. Expect fun storytelling, culinary secrets, and maybe even a selfie or two.

May 16: Gourmet Dinner at KSPO Dome

This is the crown jewel of the festival. Chefs Park Jun-woo, Jang Han-i, Jo Gwang-hyo, and Chae Nak-young (yes, the ones from Netflix) team up with local Jeju chefs to present eight original buffet dishes inspired by Jeju’s seasonal ingredients. You’ll taste flavors you won’t find in any cookbook.

Prefer something fancier? The six-course fine dining event at this luxury hotel is for those looking to savor Jeju’s best in elegance.

May 15: Wine Tasting at Shinhwa Terrace

Over 80 premium wines and traditional Korean liquors, each paired with local Jeju flavors. All drinks are available for purchase with special discounts. If you’ve been meaning to expand your wine palate, this is your chance.

June 10–15: Movie-Foovie x Jeju Shinhwa World

Catch food-themed films like The Solitary Gourmet or Drops of God at Cine Lounge—with tasting menus to match the scenes. It’s the perfect night in for cinema lovers.

Traveling for the Festival? Here’s How to Make It Easy

  • Fly into Jeju International Airport (CJU) – most domestic Korean airlines offer multiple daily flights from Seoul, Busan, and Daegu.
  • Take a direct limousine bus or taxi to Jeju Shinhwa World (about 45 minutes from the airport).
  • Renting a car? Good idea. Many festival partner restaurants are spread across the island.

Where to Stay on the Island

If you’re attending more than one event (and you should), staying near Shinhwa World gives you easy access.

For boutique travelers, consider smaller guesthouses in Seogwipo with ocean views and walking access to local markets. Want a full-on island escape? Book a few nights near Hallasan National Park and spend your mornings hiking before diving into the gourmet scene.

After the Festival: Where to Eat and Explore Next

Why stop with the festival when Jeju’s full of hidden gems? Here are two spots that blend beautifully into your food-centered travel itinerary:

Nolmang Nolmang

If you’re anywhere near Aewol, make time for Nolmang Nolmang. This local gem has been making waves for its sea urchin bibimbap—creamy, rich, and layered with the kind of umami you only get from the freshest catch. Add in wide-open views of the ocean just steps from your table, and you’ve got one of Jeju’s most unforgettable meals.

Jeju Traditional 5-Day Market

Down in Seogwipo, step into a slower rhythm at the Jeju Traditional 5-Day Market. Held on days ending in 2 and 7, it’s where island flavors meet old-school charm. You’ll find sizzling black pork, tangy hallabong juice, and pickled sides you won’t find anywhere else—perfect if you’re hunting for edible souvenirs with a story.

Jeju Food & Wine Festival 2025: Why You Shouldn’t Miss This Wonderful Event

The Jeju Food & Wine Festival 2025 isn’t just another food event on the island. Beyond what you see in the announcement and advertisements, this is actually your chance to connect with Korea in the most personal way possible: through taste.

You’ll meet chefs who’ve grown up with these island ingredients, sip wines that pair with sea breezes, and hear stories from locals who know exactly where your food comes from. It’s not about fancy plating or Instagram trends—it’s about what truly matters: flavor, memory, and the people behind it all.

So if you’re traveling to Korea this spring, come hungry. Jeju has a table waiting just for you. Visit the official website of Jeju Food and Wine Festival 2025 for more details. Also, remember to book your spot today via Naver!

Jeju is waiting for you!
