Celebrate “Squid Game” Season 2 Release on Your Year-End Travel to South Korea!

There’s no denying that “Squid Game” has been a massive global phenomenon! Ever since the first season took the world by storm, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter—and now, Season 2 is finally here!

To celebrate the release of “Squid Game” Season 2, South Korea is pulling out all the stops, hosting spectacular events and experiences for fans and visitors alike. But it really doesn’t matter whether you’re a fan of this series of not, because these limited-time events will give you the chance to immerse yourself in the iconic “Squid Game” world.

All the Immersive Events and Lightshows You Can Visit

Shinsegae Department Store Pop-Ups (Seoul & Busan)

If you’re in Seoul or Busan, you won’t want to miss the epic pop-up experiences of “Squid Game” Season 2 at Shinsegae Department Store.

In Seoul Gangnam, head to the first-floor open stage from December 20 to January 12 to experience the most interactive events of “Squid Game” Season 2 in South Korea. Displayed in the pop-up space are authentic props from the series, including bunker beds and the actual OX voting machine used during filming. From December 29 onward, the Gangnam pop-up also becomes an interactive playground, letting you try out games from Season 2 for a chance to win exclusive “Squid Game” advent calendars.

Over in Busan’s Centum City store (running until January 5), fans will be treated to a giant maze staircase, an OX voting zone, and a carousel featured in the show’s production. These “Squid Game” Season 2 events will be an immersive opportunity to live out your fantasies—minus the high stakes, of course!

Seoul Winterfest’s “Seoul Light Gwanghwamun”

For those craving a bit of drama mixed with holiday spirit, don’t miss the “Seoul Light Gwanghwamun” installations running until January 5 at Gwanghwamun Square.

Here, you’ll find towering sculptures featuring the signature ○△□ symbols, along with a captivating Young-hee figure glowing against the winter sky. The iconic character has also turned Gwanghwamun Square into the season’s ultimate photo spot, drawing locals and tourists in search of that perfect snapshot.

Even Haechi Plaza has been transformed into a playful “Squid Game”-themed relaxation zone, showcasing a media wall that blends seamlessly with the city’s festive vibe.

Media Façades in Myeongdong and Samseong Station

Meanwhile, if larger-than-life digital displays are more your style, make your way to Myeongdong and Samseong Station.

From December 6 to January 5 at Shinsegae Department Store in Myeongdong, and until December 31 at KPOP Square near Samseong Station, you’ll witness Pink Guards preparing new games in a series of jaw-dropping media façades.

Blazing lights, bold colors, and the tantalizing message “The games are ready” will transport you straight into the world of “Squid Game” Season 2. It’s an electrifying spectacle that truly captures the show’s spirit of suspense and excitement.

GS25 Pop-Up in Seongsu-dong

At the same time, convenience store giant GS25 is joining the festivities by hosting its very own “Squid Game” Season 2 pop-up events at Door-to-Seongsu in Seoul’s trendy Seongsu-dong neighborhood.

Running until January 12, this pop-up store brings the show to life through interactive games, themed photo zones, and exclusive exhibitions. Test your speed and agility in the store’s game challenges—success might win you special “Squid Game” goodies like random Dalgona or “Squid Game” ramen.

Over 30 collaboration items are also available, ranging from snacks and desserts to collectible souvenirs like transportation cards and figure key rings. For fans who want to snag an extra memory, spending over 5,000 won on “Squid Game” products earns you a photo booth pass to capture your triumphant moment in this dazzling pop-up environment.
