Need a visa in South Korea? CU convenience stores now offer visa application services, making it easier than ever for foreigners to manage their paperwork.

Convenience store chain in Korea, CU has made it easier for foreign residents to avail visa support services. The service will help with application processes and improve its accessibility. It will help foreigners residing in Korea to live comfortably without having to worry about visa formalities in Korea.

The CU visa services comes from a partnership with K-Visa. It is the country’s top most visa service provider. The CU service will take care of all your needs, from tying the knot to finding a job, investing wisely, and navigating immigration and permanent residency.

At CU stores, just scan a QR code and fill out a short form. You’ll be connected with a licensed admin who can help you with your visa needs right away!

CU visa service has got you covered with support in four languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese. You can keep an eye on your application’s progress as it goes through the submission, review, and final approval process.

The service is super affordable, with fees being about half the industry average. For instance, Visa extension services are available for as little as 20,000 won ($14), which is reportedly the lowest rate in Korea.

CU is starting with 50 stores in areas with lots of foreigners, like Daerim, Hongdae, Itaewon, and Dongdaemun in Seoul. They’re listening to customers and plan to have 1,000 stores by the end of the year.

CU is also getting ready to launch a startup package for foreign entrepreneurs and a recruitment support program for foreign job seekers.

Convenience store chain CU is stepping up its game to connect with more customers, both locals and visitors, as the number of foreigners coming to Korea after the pandemic starts to pick up.

In a similar line, CU’s automated currency exchange kiosk has been a hit! It’s been used a whopping 100 times more last month than when it first opened. That’s a 1,057.4% increase! And the foreigners who use CU’s VAT refund service (Tax Refund) have already received a whopping 26,000 refunds. But that’s not all! CU’s overseas payment users have grown by a whopping 151.9% in 2023, 177.1% in 2024, and 54.9% in just the first three months of 2024. And the number of foreigners visiting CU is on the rise every year.

“CU is the first in the industry to offer visa agency services, making it easier for foreign residents to manage visa-related tasks at their nearest convenience store. We will continue to develop innovative products and services that appeal to both local and international customers.”

Did you know that the number of foreigners living in our country has gone up by a whopping 28% in just three years? From 1.95 million in 2021 to 2.5 million in 2023, South Korea has seen a significant increase in number of foreign residents. But here’s the thing, these foreigners are having a tough time navigating the visa process. It can take up to two whole months to get a visa, and they have to visit immigration offices in person.
