It’s true that “good things come in small packages.” This is definitely true for Euljiro, a small area in Seoul home to some of the city’s best cafes. If you’re looking for an unusual coffee experience or just want to discover a few new places, then check out these cafes!

Coffee Hanyakbang

Coffee Hanyakbang, a herbal medicine shop-themed cafe, is tucked away in a tiny alleyway in Euljiro. This hidden gem will require you to search through a few alleys! This used to be a rest stop for Dr. Heo Jun, a court physician in the 16th century who utilized his legendary herbal therapy on his patients. This is an uncommon cafe that has a beautiful historic ambiance and culture. At this appropriately themed restaurant, experience old Korea and learn some history while doing so.

Baekdugangsan

Baekdugangsan, named after the Korean peninsula’s highest peak, Baekdusan, has a distinctively Korean ambiance. The light wood and dark woods give it a traditional look. Thanks to the Korean calligraphy and sculptures used on the walls, it has a very conventional atmosphere. This is also an excellent location to visit if you’re interested in Korean arts outside of Korea’s fantastic galleries and museums. You’ll find this seemingly run-down cafe to be a perfect place to unwind with a cup of hand-drip coffee and traditional Korean art.

George Seoul

Do you enjoy a little kitsch cake tucked away in an ancient structure? George Seoul is the place to go! This comfy area is filled with modest retro sofas, industrial steel tables, and ancient candles. You may also take home their iconic cakes, which are hand-signed and inscribed in a specially designed box. Finally, they offer a selection of rich desserts and coffees to complement the cake. For a relaxing, sweet evening, visit them!

Bunkasha

Bunkasha, meaning “a place where books are kept,” is a very appropriate name for this cafe. It’s filled with an eclectic mix of old and new bookshelves and antique furniture that gives it a warm feeling. This library-themed cafe also has a stage so that poets and writers can share their work with guests. If you love literature and want to enjoy a good book with a cup of coffee, this is the perfect spot for you.

Clazic

Their logo basil iced tea is so refreshing and good is a coffee cup with wings, and Clazic Cafe wants to take you on a journey. Different countries and cultures inspire their dessert and drink menu, so you can explore the world without leaving your seat. They also offer an excellent selection of teas and tisanes. This cafe is perfect for those who want to travel but can’t leave Seoul!

Cetu

It’s a lovely location with attractive beverages and toast. It’s located in a dark alley, making it hard to discover, yet the inside is bright and cheerful, allowing lots of sunshine in. Try their strawberry black tea, strawberries milk tea, and toast with creamy spreads of a range of tastes.

Horangi

They have a beautiful entrance and are also well-known for their seasonal fruit sandwiches. The inside is very spacious, and they have a lot of natural light, which makes it perfect for studying. Additionally, they offer a variety of teas, including Earl Grey and jasmine green tea.
